The Spotlight “Great Adventure” Gala 2008 will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Vancity Theatre on Seymour Street in Vancouver.

A spirited celebration of the perseverance, dedication and achievements of British Columbian women in Film, Television and Entertainment Technologies. This unique event celebrates the pioneering spirit of British Columbian women in film, television and entertainment technologies.

The Spotlight Awards Gala™ features an awards presentation, V.I.P. cocktail reception, entertainment, sponsor exhibits, and a fabulous silent auction, set in the chic, urban environment of the VanCity Theatre, Vancouver’s premier film festival venue. This year’s Gala will be the culmination of a 3-day Women-in-Film BC Festival, with all screenings, programs and VIP events happening in the same venue. Not just another awards ceremony - our guests get up close and personal with our highly creative and dynamic honourees in an evening that captivates and entertains.

Now in its eighth year, the event never fails to sell out. By supporting the Spotlight Awards Gala, you are joining Women In Film & Television Vancouver in recognizing and celebrating the extraordinary achievements and dedication of our extremely talented filmmakers.

Hello WIFTV Members, Friends, Sponsors, Supporters and curious onlookers!

A new year has arrived and brought with it a new awards season including our very own Spotlight Awards Gala. Our theme this year is “The Great Adventure” and it will be indeed as we once again celebrate the innovative, pioneering spirit of great British Columbian women who make magic happen in screen-based media.

I am very excited to be working with a great team of Co-Chairs and volunteers to bring you the 8th Annual Spotlight Awards and invite one and all to join me on March 8th , at the Vancity Theatre on Seymour, for the Great Adventure itself, an unforgettable evening of celebrating the creativity and vision of the extraordinary women and men who make it all happen.

In keeping with our theme, we have done a little pioneering ourselves combining the Spotlight Awards with the Female Film Frenzy, WIFTV Film Festival and, as always, the fabulous, not-to-be-missed Silent Auction.
